My home is in Stanley which is on the outskirts of Wakefield City Centre and is an ideal place to live for commuting and good access the motorway networks and public transport. There are a number of good local pubs, takeaways and restaurants in the local area for drinks, meals and nights out. For a quick shop I can pop to the local Co-op which is at the end of the street. There are some good Schools nearby, a doctor’s surgery, Stanley Library and the community centre almost at the end of the street. If you like golf then Normanton Golf Club is close by. I like the easy access to the local countryside; there are various cycle routes and walks along the Trans Pennine Trail and Stanley Marsh Nature Reserve. If you go into Wakefield City Centre you will find a nice shopping centre which offers most of the facilities you would need. Further afield Leeds, Sheffield or even Manchester are easily accessible via road and rail where there is an abundance of social and recreational activities including shopping, museums, theatre, cinemas, restaurants and bars.
